This class covers the practical application of film production and broadcasting with an emphasis on workflow, editing techniques, visual effects and advanced camera tools. Students learn about teamwork, leadership and career opportunities for creative multimedia work.
The DVCHS capstone class will cover advanced graphics and visual effects, the digital design process, sound design, advanced editing, animation and also lead to certification tests upon completion.
This class emphasizes the development of a personal artistic voice through sustained investigation and creation of 2D artworks. Students explore a wide range of media and techniques such as drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, and digital design. The course focuses on inquiry, experimentation, and refinement of ideas, preparing students to complete a portfolio for submission to the College Board. Along the way, students strengthen skills in critique, reflection, and presentation while learning about contemporary and historical contexts for 2D art.
This class examines the history of art across cultures and time periods with an emphasis on visual analysis, historical context, and critical interpretation. Students learn to recognize, compare, and connect works of art from global traditions while developing strong skills in writing, discussion, and critical thinking. The course emphasizes inquiry, reflection, and interpretation, preparing students for the AP Exam through practice with image sets, essays, and multiple-choice questions. Students also gain an appreciation of the role of art in shaping cultural identity, ideas, and human experience.
