  • Here's the Dutchess County loop C. It covers everything from Tivoli to Lagrange. Riding the loop is $0.75 and you can get to Poughkeepsie in 45 minutes.
  • The UCAT is the primary public transportation system in Ulster County, and they have options for frequent users!

carpool!

  • Carpooling saves on emissions and on money.
  • Check out 511 NY Rideshare if you aren't able to carpool with someone you know. If you sign up for Rideshare, pick up a special permit from Security so you can have priority access to parking when actively sharing a ride.
  • Need a location to park your car while you drive with others? There are Park and Ride Locations in Kingston by the NYS Thruway, Clinton Corners, and Rhinecliff Amtrak

Try Electric Bikes

  • Electric bikes are an excellent way to bridge the gap between places too close to justify driving and too far to walk or do normal biking.
  • The era of the Electric Bike is NOW - they are taking over New York City!

Virtual Conference

  • There are plenty of great programs and apps you can use to conduct your meetings miles away from your peers, which ultimately prevents emissions. Some are listed here
  • Bard uses BlueJeans, and it is certainly worth a try!
  • If you want to save on data and don't care about seeing each other, you can always just do a literal conference call on your phone (both Android and Apple are capable of this).




oTHER sOLUTIONS

  • Zipcar is a great car-sharing company that allows you to use a car only when you need to. There are three at Campus Center!
  • Don't walk out the door just yet! Make sure you plan your route with the shortest distance first! Also, having a checklist to finish multiple trips worth in one go will save on time and fuel!
