Welcome to my student teaching e-portfolio! I hope you enjoy looking through some of the most important aspects of my semester back in second grade! This was one of the best experiences I have ever had, and I am excited to use this experience in the near future!
My name is Ella Dupont and I am a graduating senior in the class of 2024 from Western New England University. This spring I will finally make that walk across the stage and become one step closer to following my dream career. A little about me to get to know me. I was born and raised in Cumberland, Rhode Island, a very small, close-knit town. There, I had the great blessing of being raised by the late Bethany Charpentier-Dupont and Jonah Dupont, and have 3 amazing siblings. Like most, I've gone through many challenges in life, but one thing I know I have forever is my family. I was the first daughter, the first niece, the first granddaughter of my very big family. With that being said, I am now the proudest big sister of 3 siblings and the oldest first cousin out of 16 cousins! Out of us 16 cousins our ages range from 23 years old to just 2 years old! My brother is only 10 years old -- we have over a 13-year age gap! You may be wondering why I am sharing this -- but they are the sole reason that I want to become a teacher and have officially made the start of my career! Being the oldest of so many little cousins I have had a fair share of life with kids! From playing school with my siblings in our playroom to being the designated baby sister when the aunts and uncles wanted to go out!
I knew from a young age I wanted to be a teacher! My papers from elementary school say "What do you want to be when you are older?" and without fail it was always "A teacher"! Being a teacher is something I have always wanted to do in life, most of my family members from a young age always told me -- "You are definitely going to be a teacher!". Watching my little siblings finally grasp something they have been working so hard to understand, or hearing my little cousins say "Thank you for showing me how to do that" is one of the greatest feelings. Simply helping someone learn something or feeling like you made a difference made me realize my passion for teaching! Another thing that has influenced me to want to be a teacher is dance. I had spent my entire life until college being a competitive dancer - where I also got to experience teaching but in a different way. While being a dancer at my studio, I would volunteer weekends to teach our young dancers. I would take groups to teach choreography, and simply be someone for the other dancers to come to for help. Since graduating high school- I return each spring after the semester ends to help teach dance and put together our annual recital. I hope this gives you a little peek into my life! Overall, teaching and helping others have always been an important part of my life and I am so excited for the future!
