Not gonna lie, the analysis for these responses was a bit of a beast, considering it was a completely free-text question. Some big caveats apply--these numbers are pretty rough, and I definitely missed some shows (wow, there are so many small TTRPG real-play podcasts out there). Any errors on the analysis for this are mine and mine alone, but please don’t come at me if I missed a niche TTRPG show that you like! For any fellow Excel enthusiasts out there, please DO come at me because this experience has taught me so much about =COUNTIF and =ISNUMBER, and I’d love to geek out and get other people’s thoughts on my process!
That being said, I think it’s interesting how big of a gulf there is in the number of responses between the “big four” (TAZ, NADDPOD, Dimension 20, and Critical Role) and the rest of the shows. There were 6,032 responses to this question (out of almost 10k total survey responses), which means that over a third of the people who answered this question listen to The Adventure Zone!
This list includes podcasts I found that had been mentioned in 10+ free-text responses, so if nothing else, consider it a crowdsourced podcast recommendation list from your fellow D&Dads fans.
