Melbourne Cup Party 2025
What a great afternoon we had at Luna restaurant with 42 people turning up in all their finery. It was a great opportunity for both our men and women members to don their best hats and fascinators and watch the race.
Everyone was supplied with a little gift of Ferrero Rocher as they entered the restaurant and were informed that there would be a competition for the best dressed male and best dressed female later in the afternoon.
This was subsequently won by Brian Jowett and Lynn McMeeking, both chosen by the delightful bar staff at Luna
The food was supplied by Luna and what a treat they gave us. A tasty array of finger food that kept coming throughout the afternoon and it paired well with a cheeky little wine, or two!
Everyone entered into the spirit of the afternoon and the sweepstake was well run by our very own Treasurer, Carol Pool, so we were in good hands.
When the race finally came around, there was much cheering amongst us and a big roar from our eventual winners - I think the whole of Roslyn may well have heard us.
This really was a fantastic afternoon that had been organised by Carol Pool and would like to take this opportunity of thanking her for a very well-run Melbourne Cup that may well become an annual event.
