Heir Apparent has earned several Grand Championships so far this year, including the Western Nationals, and was named Supreme Champion by the AWE judge at the Western National show. He also continued to do well in harness with a number of Division championships and reserves to his credit in both Pleasure Driving and Carriage Driving.

First Section B Stallion to earn an Individual Order of the Dragon, and the first of any section to earn an Individual OD as a result of individual and sire points. Cops comes from one of the elite families in the Welsh Pony world. He combines two of the most successful Welsh bloodlines in the US. Cops is one of three full siblings who have achieved their Individual Legion of Merit. Both his sire and dam have achieved outstanding success, earning both a Legion of Merit and Award of Excellence, and his sire has achieved multiple Order of the Dragon awards.

The Order of the Dragon has been the highest honor attainable from the WPCSA Lifetime awards program during the 30+ years that it has been available. Sleight has almost 3 times the points of any other stallion in any Section with six Orders of the Dragon. On the other end of the overall reward awards, Sleight earned the first Sire Legion of Merit, the first Sire Award of Excellence, the first Sire Order of the Dragon and has had three American National Supremes in 1988-1991-1997. Two of his daughters have also been unique by being Supreme twice at the American National show. No other pony/cob has managed two let alone Sleight’s three so far.

During the short time Swifty lived at Gayfields he sired twelve foals, defying the fears of lifelong sterility expressed by his wonderful care-takers at Cornell. Mary’s Music was waiting for him when he arrived here at his new home in May 2002. One cover and in due time we knew he would leave a legacy at Gayfields. Despite the dire warnings of infertility he sired eleven foals in three years and then came “Harry”, Gayfields Heir Apparent, after Swifty’s death in October 2004.

GAYFIELDS CALL THE LAWYER (*Sleight of Hand LOM x Dixie Blue Duchess LOM) started showing as a weanling and was successful through her Junior years. "Miss Lucy" quickly became a real prima donna, insisting on all kinds of special attention. Altogether Call The Lawyer, affectionately known as "Lucy", has won 1601 points in breeding divisions and 526 in performance for a total of 2127. She has won 16 Supreme of Show titles and was Reserve Supreme at the 2000 American National Show. At the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto she has been Champion of Champions and Supreme Champion for the past two years. She has won the Stonecroft Breeders Award twice for Gayfields. Foaled in 1992, Gayfields Call The Lawyer is by Legion of Merit, Award of Excellence and Order of the Dragon winner *Sleight of Hand. Her dam, Dixie Blue Duchess, is also a Legion of Merit winner.

2002 DAM LEGION OF MERIT B-27528 LOUISIANA LAGNIAPPE LOM (*Brockwell Spider x Homestead Flirt) LOUISIANA LAGNIAPPE LOM (*Brockwell Spider x Homestead Flirt), or "Lulu" as she is known, is 23 years old and still producing. Lulu’s owner, Cliff Merchant, rode and drove her to two AHSA Welsh Pleasure Horse of the Year Awards when those awards encompassed Driving, Trail, English and Western Pleasure classes. Lulu has had a total of eleven foals…2 colts, 9 fillies, all carrying the Gayfields prefix. Lulu, with a total of 4443 points, is more than halfway to an Award of Excellence.

DIXIE BLUE DUCHESS LOM, now 24, is by Findeln Blue Danube and out of CC Dawn. Bred by Coleman Cowan, she was foaled while on lease to Wayland Carlisle at Heart of Dixie, hence her Dixie prefix. All of her foals carry the Gayfields prefix. Each contributed to the 8058 Dam points which won the first Dam Award of Excellence for Dixie Blue Duchess. Three of her foals have been awarded Individual Legion of Merit awards. Her eldest daughter, Gayfields Call The Lawyer, has won 27 Supreme Championships, several High Score awards and was Champion of Champions at the Royal Winter Fair. Shown primarily by Ron Schwartz, Call The Lawyer earned performance points in ridden pleasure and currently has 2823 points.
