The HOur System

The Hour System is a newly implemented system that aids Dulles Red Cross members in achieving 40 hours for their Red Cross cord. Each year, there will be a quota that members have to reach in order to be on the right track to 40 hrs.

For Members:

Incoming Freshmen are required to achieve 10 Red Cross hours each year

Incoming Sophomores are required to achieve 15 Red Cross hours their sophomore and junior year, as well as 10 hours their senior year

Incoming Juniors are required to achieve 20 Red Cross hours their junior and senior year

Incoming Seniors are required to achieve 20 Red Cross hours their senior year


Ways to earn Red Cross hours:

Attend meetings, participate in activities and events, Earn 5,000 grains of rice.

Yes Hour System

The Yes Hour System is system set to allow Dulles Red Cross members to convert their earned Volunteer hours into Yes Hours. Conversion of Red Cross hours is only allowed on hours earned through Activities and Events. You may not convert Hours earned from meeting into Yes hours. The Criteria for Conversion of Hours is the following:


  • Each Month: You may earn 3 Yes hours from Free Rice, and only Yes Hours.

3,000 = 1 Yes Hours | 5,000 = 2 Yes Hours | 10,000 = 3 Yes Hours

  • Activities and Events attended can converted to 1 Yes Hour.
