Learning design thinking for social innovation has been a meaningful experience for me as an engineering student. The course helped me understand how important it is to truly recognize people’s needs by listening carefully and observing the problems they face. This perspective has reshaped my approach to problem-solving, showing me that effective solutions come from a deep understanding of users.

Collaborating with my classmates was another important part of the learning process. Their varied viewpoints encouraged creative thinking and helped generate ideas that I may not have developed on my own. The course also emphasized the value of prototyping and testing ideas. I learned to view failure not as a setback, but as a chance to learn, refine, and improve solutions.

Most importantly, the course motivated me to apply my engineering knowledge to create positive social change. It made me realize that engineering is not just about technical skills, but also about empathy and understanding real-world situations. By putting myself in the users’ place, I can design solutions that truly make a difference.
