Engineering today demands more than technical expertise; it requires an ability to understand people, contexts, and real-world complexities. Design thinking provides a human-centered and iterative framework that guides learners to explore user needs, challenge existing assumptions, and arrive at meaningful solutions through repeated experimentation and refinement. In engineering education, this approach has become increasingly valuable as it promotes the development of essential transversal skills, including critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and effective problem-solving. As part of the introductory exploration, visual representations were analyzed to compare ideal societal expectations with actual real-world conditions, helping to reveal the gap between how society is envisioned and how it functions in practice.
