When preparing for the OSSLT, it is important to know about the tools that are available for you during the test, the format of the test, as well as the specific knowledge and skills that are being assessed.
The Test is organized into two parts. The first part (approx. 65 minutes) is divided into 4 sections, and has often focused mostly on reading. After completing the first part, students are offered a break before completing part 2. Part two (approx. 75 minutes) has focused on writing in the past. You should expect approximately 37 questions - 35 selected response and 2 open-response. (Please be aware that the Education Quality and Accountability Office - EQAO - can make adjustments to the test format each year).
