“Policies are non-negotiable and Employees of the Sheriffs Office are expected to know policies and are expected to enforce the laws while functioning within the Policies of the Sheriff's Office”
P.01.1 - Uniform Policies
P.01.1.1 - When active or on duty Deputies must be in uniform
P.01.1.2 - Uniforms are to be kept clean and presentable
P.01.1.3.1 - Deputies that have facial hair it must be well groomed and not touching the collar
P.01.1.4 - Deputies are permitted to have Tattoos but no Vulgar or Obscene tattoos are to be visible
P.01.1.5 - Certain Deputies are authorized to Work out of Uniform based on Assignment
P.01.2 - Social Media
P.01.2.1 - Los Santos County Sheriff’s Office allows its Deputies to own or use social media accounts
P.01.2.1.1 - Deputies are not permitted to use or post daily activities of the Sheriff’s Office or Duties while on or off shift.
P.01.4 - Use of Force
P.01.4.1 - Employees of the Sheriffs Office are expected to follow the strict use of force continuum, failure to do so can result in suspension up to termination
P.01.6 - Equality
P.01.6 - Deputies are to view all members of the community and public as equal, racism or other bias remarks about one's Gender, Sexuality, Religion, Impairments and Skin Tone is Highly Discouraged and will result in punishment or up to termination
P.01.7 - Traffic Stops
P.01.7.1 - Traffic Stops must be lawful and must have a primary offense to be initiated
P.01.7.2 - Deputies must have Probable Cause to Stop a Vehicle
P.01.7.3 - Secondary Offenses citations can be issued if the Unit is performing a Legal stop
P.01.7.4 - CAT can stop for secondary violations
P.01.7.5 - Traffic Stops must be performed by a Uniformed Deputy
P.01.9 - Citizens Rights
P.01.9.1 - Deputies are to acknowledge that everyone is equal and that their rights matter
P.01.9.2 - Citizens have the right to request a Supervisor when they believe their rights have been violated.
P.01.9.4 - Deputies are Required to call for a Unit of the Same Gender or a Supervisor when needing to perform a Pat Down of a Suspect
P.01.9.5 - Citizens that request information of a situation that they are not involved with are encouraged to fill out a Release Information Request form at

Deputies/Units are not required to release any information on a active scene
Policies are Subjected to Change and It is the Deputies (Members) duty to stay informed and up to date
