Grant Program

The DSHS PTO is pleased to offer faculty, administrators and student organizations at Dover-Sherborn High School the opportunity to apply for funding through our grant program.

The DSHS PTO Board seeks proposals that enhance and enrich the classroom experience and the broader school environment by providing additional support for instructional initiatives, innovative programs, and student enrichment opportunities. Our goal is to expand learning opportunities for students, faculty, and staff beyond what is supported through the school’s annual operating budget.

We encourage proposals that support:

The development and implementation of innovative curriculum projects, including interdisciplinary and theme-based learning experiences.
Specific instructional units, lessons, or teaching strategies that enhance student learning.
Innovative technology solutions that support classroom instruction.
Projects that promote collaboration and teamwork among faculty, faculty and students, or students and students.
Teacher professional development opportunities and enrichment materials. Travel expenses directly related to approved programs or initiatives may also be considered.
Creative use of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks to enhance learning experiences and educational opportunities.

Challenge Success

Sponsor of Challenge Success speakers such as Jill Walsh, Boston University sociologist, researcher, and founder of Digital Aged, who spoke about helping teens, families, and schools navigate the impact of technology and social media on adolescent well-being.

Homecoming

One of the ways your PTO works to support the DSHS community is by helping make special student experiences possible. Homecoming is a wonderful opportunity for students to come together, celebrate, and create memories with their classmates and we’re happy to be able to contribute toward making the evening a fun and memorable one.

Spirit Days

Throughout the year, the PTO gives students a chance to take a break, enjoy a treat, and celebrate fun days and special moments! From college admission deadlines to exciting school events like the opening of the new turf and our music students performing at Fenway, we love celebrating our students and making their school experience a little sweeter.

Teacher Appreciation

The DSHS PTO enjoys finding ways throughout the year to thank and support our wonderful teachers and staff. From lunches and a holiday cookie swap to our annual appreciation breakfast, these are just a few of the ways we show our appreciation for all they do for our students and school community.

Student Groups

The DSHS PTO is proud to support new and innovative student groups that give students opportunities to explore their interests, develop new skills, and connect with others. From DECA and Model UN to many other student-led groups and activities, we’re happy to help make these opportunities possible for our students.

Educational Innovation

Through teacher and administrator grants, the DSHS PTO provides funding above and beyond the school’s annual budget to support classroom materials and innovative teaching approaches, including opportunities to explore collaborative teaching and other new instructional ideas. We also provide support for teacher conferences and professional development, helping our educators

Grant Proposal Guidelines

The Board encourages proposals for:

The development and implementation of exemplary curriculum projects, including interdisciplinary/theme-based curriculum.
Specific new or innovative instructional units or strategies.
Dynamic technology for the classroom.

Projects that encourage dynamic forms of collaboration and teaming among faculty, faculty and students, or students and students.

Teacher professional development, as well as enrichment materials. Travel expenses related to any of the above will also be considered.
Projects using the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks creatively to improve learning and educational opportunities
Student projects, events, and groups that make a meaningful impact across the student community, particularly those advancing new or innovative ideas.

Applying for a DSHS PTO Grant

Who is eligible to apply?

All faculty, administrator, staff or student organization of Dover-Sherborn High School.

What types of grants are usually submitted?

Grant awards will be considered for proposals that support academics, the arts, instructional materials, technology, or staff professional development. We also encourage creative ideas, including innovative pilot programs that enrich learning and enhance the educational experience for students.

Is there a deadline?

There is no submission deadline for grant proposals during the school year. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, recognizing that funding needs may arise unexpectedly. Emergency grant requests are welcome and will be given prompt consideration.

How do I apply?

Applying for a grant is simple:

Complete the Grant Request Proposal Application online.
Submit a Reimbursement Form after your grant has been approved and purchases have been made, along with any required receipts or supporting documentation.
