WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO
The DSHS PTO is a non-profit organization run by parent volunteers whose mission is to develop community connections, support students in spirit-building initiatives, and show appreciation to faculty and staff for the important role they play in our students’ lives.
The DSHS PTO is a non-profit organization run by parent volunteers whose mission is to develop community connections, support students in spirit-building initiatives, and show appreciation to faculty and staff for the important role they play in our students’ lives.
Our efforts include:
Grade-specific parent/guardian gatherings to create connections and discuss topics important to each year
Partnerships with other DSHS organizations to help build school spirit
Several ”De-Stress DS” student events scattered throughout the year
Multiple teacher appreciation events, including breakfasts, lunches, cookie swaps and more
Annual support for the Principal Student Activity Fund, which sponsors entry to leadership conferences and competitions, including Mock Trial, Robotics, MA Science Olympiad and Math Team
Provide funding for special student and teacher initiatives like Trivia Night, TedX Talks, and a site visit to Casco Bay HS in Maine to observe Expeditionary Learning
FREE distribution of our digital school directory, in partnership with POSITIVE, to our school community members
