Title: COVID-19 and Social Justice: Disproportional Impacts Among Marginalized Communities

Abstract:

As severe as the COVID-19 pandemic has been, impacts have been especially severe among marginalized communities, including persons of color, Native Americans, LGBTQ+, the homeless, prison populations, and others. This study leverages county-level COVID mortality data from the New York Times database and socio-economic and demographic data from the American Community Survey to identify risk factors and calculate odds ratios for COVID-19 mortality among various marginalized communities in comparison to Caucasian populations.
