bed making reaction

I learned how to make a bed lodging style. There were three layers of blankets to make the bed. I found the tucking of the sheets method convenient and pleasing to the eye. Making a bed makes the area look put together. I use this method at home, especially the corner method. The first sheet is tucked, and the last two are tucked together. The third sheet is then folded towards the end of the bed and easy for the guest to get all tucked in.

I didn't know there was a method for folding pillowcases and bed sheets. I was amazed by how quick it was to learn and easy it was to achieve. Sharing this learning experience with my classmates was enjoyable as well. Mr. Chong did great at explaining the purposes and the techniques we can implement.

Mrs. carol cruz's gcc presentation

Due to the pandemic, a lot of people became distant with hospitality. Mrs. Cruz's PowerPoint informed me that hospitality is starting back up. I did shy away from hospitality during my junior year because I feared co-vid. That held me back from getting my work hours. However, now that I've seen her presentation, I am a bit more comfortable. Although I do not have a way to get a job, I know hospitality is a journey I'm hoping to experience in the future.

I have a goal to get my Associate's Degree for hotel management, so that specific slide stood out to me. I need to apply for scholarships or financial aid. College is a big priority for me, and I am determined to pursue management in hospitality. GCC is very affordable, clean, and convenient for me. I will be looking into the steps that will help me proceed.

reaction to dr.betances talk

I'm currently in the process of applying for a job. As we all know, that process takes long. Dr.B reminded me today that if you really want something, you need to reject rejection. I learned that somebody out there will love you for who you are. Don't be angry at what your parents can't afford to provide but be productive with what you have. We're also working on our Ted Talks, and Dr.B taught us to make eye contact and engage with our audience.

Because of my close relationship to Dr.B, I learned most of the things he spoke about and practice it to this day. I surround myself with good people, who also want what's best for me. I understand that I am my only advocate to my success. Increasing my word power will increase my intelligence. Dr. B speaks in a way where it's a lot of different things being said at once, but in a memorable way.

cte counselor: ms.oliveros' presentation

There are so many different programs that can assist me in my odyssey to graduating more than once. Ms. Oliveros went over the Clymer Program which helps me with my English and Math placements. I will definitely remember to take advantage of that program on my way to college. Project Aim stood out to me the most because it reminds me of the program ETS. Both of which help you prepare for life after High School. She also brought up the Certificate of Mastery, which I'm hoping to earn. I need to get my 180 hours in order to get my half day for next semester.

Prior to meeting with Ms. Oliveros, I was struggling in the process of filling out my FAFSA. It's relieving to know Ms. Oliveros is more than happy to help us all. As excited as I am, I can't help but feel scared to grow up. The presentation reminded me I'm a senior preparing for college. I need to start planning and thinking about what I want. Which I have been, but now it's nailed in my head. I need to apply for scholarships, start studying for my SAT's, and do further research on what I want to study.
