You measure a DNA sample in a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 260 nm and 280 nm, respectively, in a cuvette with 1 cm pathlength. Assuming that an absorbance of 1.000 is achieved by a concentration of 50 µg/mL double stranded DNA at 260 nm, what is the concentration of your DNA sample? Also check whether your DNA is pure (usually a A260/A280 ratio between 1.75 and 2.0 is considered fairly pure).
