Last day of CREA's The Sexuality, Gender, and Rights Institute 2025, held in Croatia 

Navin Sharma was awarded a Travel Bursary under the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funded research network World Making Words: Connecting Women’s Literary Agency, Activism and Enterprise in South Asia during his PhD. As part of the programme, he attended and presented his research paper titled “Screening ‘Cruelty’: Emergence of the Failed Marriage Plot in Hindi Cinema’s Storytelling.” This event took place at the KTDC Mascot Hotel, Trivandrum, Kerala.

At the Ninth Annual Conference on City as the Southern Question, held on 13-14 November 2024. The conference was entirely funded and organized by Mahanirban Calcutta Research Group (MCRG) in collaboration with the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM), Vienna

Received the Graduate Student Essay Honor Award from the ChLA (Children's Literature Association) for essay titled "Negotiating Adivasi Identity: A Multimodal Analysis of the Indian Picturebook The Why-Why Girl (2003)

Received the June Cummins Diversity Conference Travel Grant to present "Exploring Indigeneity and Environment in Contemporary Indian Picturebooks: A Multimodal Approach" at the 2023 ChLA Conference in Bellevue, Washington

Received IRSCL travel grant to present "Ecology of Resilience: Traversing the Entanglement between Environment and Adivasi Lives in Contemporary Indian Picturebooks" at the International Research Society for Children's Literature, hosted by the University of California Santa Barbara (UC Santa Barbara) in collaboration with Stanford University from August 12th to 17th, 2023
