Extremely elated to announce that my SWAYAM-NPTEL course on "Introduction to Medical Humanities" is now open for enrollment. It is meant to be a UG/PG core, but can be taken up by anyone who is interested in stories of medicine. There are no prerequisites for joining this course and can be taken up by anyone across the world who is interested to know about medical humanities discourse in India.

Priyanka Tripathi is an Associate Professor of English and former Head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (India). She is also the Fellowship Coordinator for the Journal of International Women’s Studies (Bridgewater State University, USA). Additionally, she holds the position of Associate Editor for the Journal of Graphic Novels and Comics (Taylor & Francis). In the past, she has received prestigious fellowships like the Charles Wallace India Trust Visiting Fellowship (2024-25) at the School of History, University of Leeds, IPD Visiting Research Fellowship (2022-23) at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Humanities, University of Edinburgh, Associate Fellow at the Indian Institute of Advance Studies Shimla and the Journal of International Women's Studies Fellowship (2021-2022), Bridgewater State University, USA. She has received several grants (ICSSR, JPN Centre, IIT Indore, SPARC, Govt. of Bihar, MHRD, Diaspora Screen Media Network UK) over the last few years. Her monograph with Bloomsbury is titled The Gendered War: Evaluating Feminist Ethnographic Narratives of the 1971 War of Bangladesh (2022). Her forthcoming monograph with the National Book Trust of India is titled Mann Ki Baat & Bharatiya Art, Culture and Heritage. She works in the areas of Medical Humanities, Gender Studies, South Asian Fiction, and Graphic Novels.
