Professional Profile
I am a college professor, ELT scholar-practitioner, and published researcher with over 20 years of international experience in higher education and applied linguistics. My teaching practice is grounded in humanistic, equity-responsive, and research-informed principles of adult education, and I currently hold active academic appointments at Centennial College and Sheridan College in Ontario, Canada.
I have a Doctor of Education from the University of Sheffield (UK), an MA in English Studies, and a BA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Veliko Turnovo (Bulgaria). My professional certifications include a CELTA (Pass B), a TEFL Certificate (University of the Fraser Valley), a TESL Ontario Diploma, and TESL Ontario-accredited designations as a Theory and Methodology Instructor, Academic Coordinator, and Practicum Supervisor. I completed a Certificate in AI for Teaching and Learning from Ontario Tech University in 2024, and a Professional Learning Certificate: Teacher AI Literacy from Northern Arizona University (USA) in 2025.
Scholarship & Recognition
SoTL Scholar Award 2024 — George Brown College
As the 2024 recipient of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Scholar Award at George Brown College, I led the Teaching and Learning Community of Practice in the ELT domain at the School of ESL and Immigrant Education (January 2023 – August 2025). In this capacity, I regularly contributed to the SoTL-ESL community newsletter, sharing scholarly reflections, faculty interviews, and pedagogical insights with colleagues across the institution.

Research Focus
My scholarly work sits at the intersection of ELT and EAP teacher identity negotiation, teacher emotions, and AI in language education. I employ autoethnographic and exploratory methodologies to investigate how personal and professional identities shape pedagogical practice in post-secondary ELT contexts.
I have published peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings, and actively disseminate research through SoTL and TESL professional newsletters in Canada and internationally.
