Mandate

To develop leadership for professional development and practice among English language and TESOL educators working in both the college and university sectors. (TESL Ontario)

As a membership officer, I support TESL Toronto, the largest chapter of TESL Ontario, and the ELT community by:

Receiving monthly reports from TESL Ontario and updating the membership data to TESL Toronto's Google drive.
Overseeing and discussing membership strategies with the TESL Toronto board.
Liaising with TESL Ontario about membership, TESL Toronto events, and TESL Ontario Contact Magazine.
Preparing and submitting post-event reports to the TESL Ontario Member Services Manager.
Promoting TESL Toronto and TESL Ontario events and membership benefits.
Attending annual online Membership Secretaries meeting with the TESL Ontario Member Services Manager.

TESL Toronto Member At Large

As a member-at-large, I supported TESL Toronto, the largest chapter of TESL Ontario, and the ELT community by:

Attending executive board meetings.
Sharing ideas, insights and experiences, pertinent to the sector I represent.
Acting in supporting roles during TESL Toronto events: T4T Conference, Employment Event, TOSCON Annual Conference.
Upholding and protecting the values, vision, and mission of TESL Toronto and TESL Ontario.
Supporting the executive committee members during the planning, liaising and development stages of organizing and holding virtual and in-person professional development events.

In my capacity as the SoTL-ESL Community of Practice in ELT lead, I support our college educators' community by:

Contributing to the SoTL-ESL Newsletter with professional activities updates, faculty focus interviews, and reflective articles.
Participating in the committee's meetings.
Organizing SoTL-ESL Talk Series.
Sharing research and pedagogical insights, ideas, and surveys for faculty engagement and development.
