Doctoral Research Scholars (Ph.D.)
Ms Chandana Shet. Working on “Effect of Parenting styles on study habit, achievement motivation and coping with stress among Adolescents. She will submit her thesis by the end of March 2020 (Joined on January 2015).
Ms. Chandana Shet is a Counselling Psychologist with an experience of more than 10 years and currently working in Arya Vidya Mandir School, BKC as a School Counsellor. She has worked at Manas Hospital, Dombivli; Drishti psychological centre, Andheri; Ryan International Schools, Vishvajyot high school, St. Lawrence high school and has worked as a visiting lecturer at K.V.Pendharkar College, Dombivli. She studied Masters in Counselling psychology from Mumbai University and is currently pursuing PhD from SNDT Women's University, Mumbai. She is also trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dance Movement Therapy, Art therapy and Play therapy.
Ms Preeti Asgaonkar. Her broad subject area of research study is “Intellectually Gifted Tribal and Non-Tribal Adolescents”. Currently, she is collecting data for her doctoral research (Joined on January, 2017).
Ms Preeti holds her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, from Mumbai University. She currently offers her services as a Clinical Psychologist at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, India as an Interview Panelist, and at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium High School, as a school counsellor. She mentor four batches of master students in Counselling Psychology for their internship. Her work in the field of Psychology for the past 10 years includes her private practice as a Clinical psychologist, and Employee Development Programs for Nationalised Banks and a Maharatna oil Company.
Sr. Patricia D’souza. Her broad subject area of research study is “Leadership styles of women managers working in education and healthcare sectors”. Currently, she is collecting data for her doctoral research (Joined on January 2018).
Sr. Patricia D’Souza is the Head of Department of Psychology Sophia College, Mumbai. She completed her BA from Sophia College and her Masters in Clinical Psychology from SNDT Women's University, Churchgate, Mumbai. A passionate feminist and an ardent supporter of women’s issues, she believes women make a unique and a special contribution to the world wherever they are. She endeavors to make her students critically aware of the multiple facets of different women’s issues. Around a decade ago Sr. Patricia launched and continues to motivate her students to work as volunteers in different organizations/settings with a varied groups, to make the learning of Psychology a wholesome and hands on experience.
Ms Bharti Purswani. Her broad subject area of research study is “Social media Addiction”. Currently, she is developing a tool for her doctoral research (Joined on January 2019).
Ms Bharti purswani is a clinical psychologist, with an experience of 5 years and currently working with Bhaktivedanta Swami Mission School (an inclusive school) and a consultant psychologist at Maharashtra National Law University & Sugun Hospital. She has completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology from SNDT Women's University and Bachelor in special education from RCI recognized Institute. Previously, was associated with a renowned Psychiatrist at Masina Hospital, Mumbai. She has worked as a guest lecturer at Guru Nanak College, Sion. She is a passionate practitioner clinical psychologist, treats individuals of varied age groups, enabling them to live a happier and better quality of life. Her area of research interest is Social media Addiction.
