Advocacy is about being your child’s strongest voice. It means standing up for their needs and ensuring they have access to the services and support that allow them to thrive. You do this every day—through conversations with teachers, collaborating with school staff, and staying informed about your child’s education.
But sometimes, advocating can feel overwhelming. That’s when bringing in a professional—an educational consultant or advocate—can make all the difference. These experts can help strengthen communication between families and schools, fostering true collaboration focused on your child’s success.
There are many wonderful professionals out there, and the most important thing is finding someone you feel comfortable with and trust. At the end of the day, only you can know who is the right fit for your family.
In-person and remote consultation services are available.
Sessions will be tailored to your needs; we can discuss concerns, questions, or roadblocks you are facing and/or consider possible solutions or recommendations for special education and/or 504 plans.
Most potential clients may benefit from these consultation sessions to talk through concerns, review documents together, and discuss possible scenarios and talking points for parents to present to the ARD/IEP/504 committee. This service is good for caregivers who just need professional perspectives but feel comfortable addressing the committee without a consultant.
The client can provide the consultant with documents before the consultation, but they will be reviewed with the client during the session.
The first twenty (20) minutes are complimentary to new clients. Additional time will follow a fee of $39 per 30-minute increment.
This service requires an in-depth review of all previous and draft documents to prepare for ARD/IEP/504 meetings or the review of evaluation reports (documents need to be provided to the consultant by the caregiver)
The consultant will obtain a list of concerns and anticipated outcomes the family hopes to achieve through consultation.
The consultant will complete a review of the school district's operating guidelines, services and supports, and programs offered.
The consultant, upon completion of a review of all available data, will draft areas of concern or questions from the school's proposed IEPs (e.g., goals and/or objectives, services, and supports) and present them to the caregiver.
Correspondences and the final product of this service (e.g., recommendations) will be provided to the caregiver via email attachment. It will be the caregiver's discretion to use the recommendations provided.
Most potential clients may benefit from this service as a stand-alone service to have written guidance from a professional's perspective to equip themselves to address the ARD/IEP/504 committee without a consultant. OR This service can be pre-planning work to collaborate with caregivers to prepare to attend the meeting together.
Flat rate pricing per meeting preparation (e.g., annual, review, MDR, amendment) at $145

At the parent's discretion, I will be the liaison during the meetings to answer any questions you may have as we go through the agenda.
Will help guide the meeting in a positive, collaborative manner and ensure that we remain student-centered.
Will be your voice for the duration of the day's meeting.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SERVICE IS PAUSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO MY COMMITMENT TO MY PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT.

Disclaimer: I will help you advocate for your child's rights, but I am not an attorney, nor do I represent myself as one. I am an independent consultant with over 20 years of experience and knowledge of the shifting field of special education through both the family perspective and public education (e.g., classroom teacher, diagnostician, campus administration, and district administration). I have advocated for individuals with disabilities since being blessed with a little brother with severe disabilities, and I understand the difficulties and barriers families face. I will never push families or the school district into a recommendation that will delay services and support for your child unless the data supports such recommendations as being in the best interest of his or her educational journey.
