Are you in a doctoral program and feeling overwhelmed trying to juggle work, family, and life commitments? You’re not alone. The path to a doctorate can feel like climbing a mountain in the dark—frustrating, exhausting, and at times, completely isolating. Maybe you’ve caught yourself thinking: “How am I ever going to finish?” “I’m stuck. I can’t write anymore.” “Where do I even begin to find the right research?” “Does any of this make sense?”
I get it—because I’ve been there. Since earning my Ed.D., I’ve walked this journey with countless doctoral candidates, serving as a coach, research consultant, editor, and mentor. I’ve even helped entire cohorts move forward with clarity, motivation, and confidence.
Here’s the truth: more than 40% of graduate students never complete their programs. The emotional and financial weight of getting stuck at ABD (All But Dissertation) status is enormous. And sadly, only 56% of doctoral candidates finish within ten years. That unfinished degree can mean wasted time, money, and potential.
But it doesn’t have to be your story.
Whether you're grappling with writer's block, struggling to organize your thoughts, or just need someone who gets it—I’m here to help. I’ll work with you through every step: from topic development to your final defense.
You’ve come too far to stop now. Let’s move you from ABD to Ed.D. or Ph.D.—with purpose, strategy, and support every step of the way.
Disclaimer: I will help guide you through whatever process you need me to, but I will not ghost-write your paper. My services are meant to keep you going and nudge you along but I want you to be proud of the final product that YOU created.
This service can be via email, phone, or virtual sessions and can range anywhere from discussing topic selection to the development of research questions and hypotheses to the development of a research or study plan, and more. Sometimes having another person available when you need to bounce ideas, ask questions, or validate your thoughts and ideas can be very helpful! Professors, chairs, and committee members are often so busy that they need a week or more to respond to your question or inquiry. That wait time can make you super anxious!
This can be a one-time service or as many sessions as you see fit.
The first twenty (20) minutes are complimentary to new clients.
Each session is charged a fee of $39 per 30 minutes (via Zoom, Google Meets, or phone)
I do offer a semester-long flat fee of $750 per semester (i.e., Fall, Spring, Summer) for unlimited consultation/coaching services as needed.
This service will be mainly completed via email correspondence, and work will be provided via email attachment. It will be at your discretion to use the recommendations provided.
This entails helping to proofread, providing guidance to align the conceptual or theoretical framework, suggesting additional relevant articles to strengthen your literature review, synthesizing gaps, articulating a clear methodology and data plan, and providing guidance on the theoretical and practical implications of your research. I will also guide the flow of your writing, look to make sure you have all the required components in the right chapters and in the right order, and help you prevent repetition and improve headings and transitions between paragraphs.
Services are charged by the chapter (up to 20 pages double-spaced) at $150. Additional fee of $25 per additional 5 page increments. This is a one-time service; once I edit/format a chapter, you will typically present it to your chair for feedback. Any additional edits/format changes they request will need to be updated by the student. Should you request additional services based on the chair's feedback, we can discuss additional fees.
For those pursuing submission to peer-reviewed journal articles, this service is charged by the hour at $25/hour.
Let's just say it - human transcribing or transcription is a B(east)! I opted to do my own transcription for my dissertation, and it was gruesome, but in a way, I enjoyed it!
This service requires extensive time consumption from having to play, rewind, repeat, and document audio-recorded work. The quality of the transcription depends on the quality of your recording.
I will transcribe your recorded interview files verbatim into a Word document, and the product will be emailed to you.
Services will be dependent on the length of the recording. I will need to test the audio first before accepting the requested service to ensure that I can hear enough to be able to transcribe. Please contact me if you are interested in this service.
If you are at the stage where you are ready to form your dissertation committee team (i.e., chair and members) to support you in your defenses and you need a committee member for a research area related to education, look no further!
First, you will need to check with the doctoral program to ensure that you can ask someone outside of your university to serve on the committee. If your university allows this and you would like for me to serve on the committee, I will need confirmation from your chair that they accept me. This will also allow me to be "published" and sign off on your dissertation after your final defense is successful.
No fees - it is an honor and privilege to serve on dissertation committees!
*ABD: All But Dissertation
You may already have an ABD degree without realizing it! What is ABD? "All but dissertation" means you have taken all the courses you need to take to earn an Ed.D or Ph.D. It means you have completed all the comprehensive exams and/or research competency requirements. It means you have defended your dissertation proposal. At this point, you might feel you almost deserve a degree already, so someone invented the term All But Dissertation degree. Unfortunately, ABD is not a real degree offered by any university, and getting this far will do you no good if you don’t finish your dissertation.
