Drive & Divide is designed to help users manage the mixed business and personal use of a company vehicle.
Privacy is a fundamental part of the application's design. Trip history, GPS routes and visited locations are processed and stored locally on the user's device and are not transmitted to the Drive & Divide server.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Drive & Divide uses, why it is required, where it is stored and when limited information may be transmitted to external services.
Drive & Divide uses the device's location services to automatically record vehicle journeys.
Location data may be used to determine:
the GPS route of a trip;
distance travelled;
departure and destination locations;
trip progress;
stops made during a journey.
Because automatic trip recording must continue while the user is driving without keeping the application open on screen, Drive & Divide may access location information while the application is running in the background.
Location access is used exclusively to provide the trip-recording functionality requested by the user.
GPS coordinates, recorded routes and visited locations are stored locally on the user's device and are not transmitted to the Drive & Divide server.
Location data is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling or tracking users for purposes unrelated to the application's functionality.
Drive & Divide uses the Bluetooth connection between the smartphone and the vehicle to detect when a journey starts and ends.
The user selects the Bluetooth device associated with the vehicle.
Bluetooth information is used exclusively for the automatic trip detection functionality.
Drive & Divide does not use Bluetooth information for advertising, profiling or tracking unrelated devices.
Drive & Divide may store information relating to journeys, including:
date and time;
trip duration;
distance travelled;
departure and destination;
GPS route;
stops;
trip classification as Business, Personal or Mixed;
manually entered notes or information;
calculated trip costs.
This information is stored locally on the device.
Trip data is not uploaded to or stored on the Drive & Divide server.
Users may voluntarily record vehicle refueling or charging information, including:
date and time;
vehicle odometer reading;
fuel or energy type;
quantity of fuel or electricity;
amount paid.
This information is stored locally on the device and is used to provide vehicle cost and consumption information.
It is not transmitted to the Drive & Divide server.
Drive & Divide may use the device's speech-recognition functionality to assist with the entry of refueling or charging information.
Microphone access is activated only when the user explicitly starts voice input.
Voice recognition may be processed by the speech-recognition services provided by the device's operating system or service provider. The handling of voice data by those services is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Drive & Divide does not store audio recordings on its server.
Drive & Divide provides a limited free trial before a permanent licence is required.
To prevent repeated activation of the free trial through reinstallations, the application communicates with the Drive & Divide trial server.
Only the minimum technical information required to identify the trial installation/device and manage the number of trial trips is transmitted.
The trial service does not receive:
GPS coordinates;
trip routes;
departure or destination locations;
trip history;
refueling history;
personal trip classifications.
The information used for trial management is not used for advertising or user profiling.
The permanent Drive & Divide licence may be purchased through Google Play.
Payment processing is handled by Google Play. Drive & Divide does not receive or store the user's credit card number or other payment-card details.
The application may receive information from Google Play indicating whether the Drive & Divide licence has been purchased and is valid.
Drive & Divide can generate reports in formats such as Excel and PDF.
Reports are generated from information stored on the user's device.
If the user chooses to share or export a report, the destination is selected by the user through the sharing functions provided by the operating system.
Drive & Divide does not automatically upload reports to its server.
Drive & Divide allows users to create backups containing supported application data and settings.
Backups are created under the user's control and are stored in locations selected or accessible by the user.
Drive & Divide does not automatically upload application backups to its server.
Users are responsible for protecting backup files that they copy or transfer outside their device.
Drive & Divide can protect access to trip information and reports using a PIN and, on compatible devices, biometric authentication.
Biometric verification is performed by the operating system.
Drive & Divide does not receive, store or transmit fingerprint, facial recognition or other biometric templates.
Drive & Divide does not use trip information, GPS routes or visited locations for advertising.
Drive & Divide does not sell trip information, location data or refueling information.
Drive & Divide does not create advertising profiles based on the user's journeys or locations.
Trip, location, refueling and application data stored locally remain on the user's device until they are deleted by the user, removed through application functions, erased by uninstalling the application, or otherwise removed from the device.
Users can delete individual trips and refueling records through the application where the corresponding function is available.
Trial-management information stored on the Drive & Divide server may be retained as necessary to prevent repeated use of the free trial and to maintain the integrity of the licensing system.
Drive & Divide is designed to minimise the amount of information transmitted outside the user's device.
Communications with Drive & Divide online services use secure network connections.
Users should protect access to their smartphone and any backup or exported report containing personal information.
Drive & Divide is intended for vehicle drivers and is not designed as a service for children.
The application does not knowingly provide services directed at children.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Drive & Divide functionality, legal requirements or applicable platform policies change.
