Use this method if you haven't enabled "Auto-Tracking" or if you simply prefer to start and stop recordings manually.
Start Recording: Tap the large blue "Start Driving" button in the center of the home screen.
Stop Recording: Once you arrive at your destination, tap the "Stop Recording" button to end and save your trip data.
Your saved logs are automatically listed in the history on the home screen. Reviewing them regularly will ensure your data is "Tax-Ready."
Simply toggle between tabs on the home screen to get an instant overview of your driving activity.
History: View all trips in chronological order.
Daily / Monthly / Yearly: See aggregated data for each period, including total distance and your Business Usage Percentage.
Tap any entry to open the "Trip Details" screen. Think of this as your digital notebook to keep your logs organized.
Set as "Business": With a single tap, mark work-related trips as "Business." This directly impacts your business expense (tax deduction) calculations.
Add Purpose & Destination: Enter specific details like "Meeting with Client A." The app remembers your previous entries, so you can simply tap and select them for future trips.
Adjust or Delete Records: If you forgot to stop a recording or need to correct a GPS discrepancy, you can manually fine-tune the date, time, or distance. Unnecessary logs can be deleted using the button at the bottom of the screen.
The recorded GPS route (map data) is protected as "irrefutable evidence" captured by the system. While you have the flexibility to fine-tune the numbers, the underlying route data serves as a strong shield to prove the legitimacy of your tax claims.
Turn a year’s worth of driving logs into a professional report in seconds.
Access the export screen via the "Export CSV" button in the Annual Details view.
Automatic Calculation: The app automatically calculates your Business Usage Percentage (%) relative to total mileage and includes it in the filename for easy organization.
The exported file can be sent directly to your accountant or imported into Excel and accounting software.
Note: This CSV file serves as crucial supporting documentation (evidence for business expense allocation) for your tax returns.
Forget to hit the "Start" button? Or want to digitize your old paper logs? Use the Manual Entry feature. While the map route won't be recorded, you can still save all essential data (date, distance, purpose, etc.) for your official mileage log.
Tap the "+" Button: Tap the "+" icon located in the top-left corner of the main screen.
Enter Trip Details: Input your departure/arrival times and the total distance traveled.
Select Category & Purpose: Mark the trip as "Business" or "Personal" and add the destination or purpose if needed.
Save & Finish: Tap "Save" in the top-right corner to add the entry to your history.
For tax purposes, consistency is your strongest defense. As long as your "Total Mileage" and "Purpose" are recorded accurately, a general destination (e.g., "Meeting with Client A") is typically sufficient evidence. Focus on keeping a daily habit—a complete log is far more valuable than a few perfect ones!
By setting your fuel price and fuel efficiency, the app will automatically calculate the cost for each trip based on the distance traveled.
Go to Settings: Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of the home screen.
Input Values: Select "Auto Calculate" and enter the following two details:
Gas Price: The price per unit (e.g., $1.50/L or $4.50/gal).
Actual Fuel Efficiency: Your vehicle’s average fuel economy (e.g., 15.0 km/L or 35 MPG).
How it Works: The app automatically calculates the cost per unit of distance based on these values.
If you don't know your actual fuel economy, try these methods to find a baseline:
Use 70–80% of the Factory Rating: Look up your car’s official specs online. Entering about 70% to 80% of the advertised "Catalog" or "EPA" rating usually gives a more realistic result for daily driving.
General Estimates:
Compact Cars: Approx. 15–20 km/L (35–45 MPG)
Standard Sedans/SUVs: Approx. 10–15 km/L (25–35 MPG)
Hybrid Vehicles: Approx. 20–30 km/L (45–70 MPG)
Check Your Dashboard: Most modern cars display "Average Fuel Economy" on the dashboard or infotainment screen. This is the most accurate source for your specific driving habits.
Note: You can update these numbers at any time. Feel free to adjust them later if you calculate a more precise figure using the "Full Tank Method" (calculating based on actual fuel added vs. distance traveled).
