2022.11.16 Congratulations to our member Chaerin Shin who won Excellence Award at the 2022 K+ Byulbyulsangsang Startups Idea Competition (2022 K+ 별별상상 아이디어 경진대회) . She presented research and methods to commercialize artificial eardrums by natural polymer that can effectively regenerate eardrums targeting ottis media or various ear diseases. 2022.10.05-10.08 Prof. Kim has participated as a speaker and a chair at the 2022 Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society- Asian Pacific (TERMIS-AP) in Jeju, Korea.
2022.10.20 Congratulations to team BML. Our paper got accepted in the Journal of Industrial Chemistry and Engineering (JIEC, Impact factor: 6.760)! This review provides how to use bioactive MXenes and their biological application in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Our lab has currently worked on MXene-incorporated scaffolds for various applications and modifications of the surface of MXenes for different uses.

2022.06.24-25 Prof. Kim hosted the symposium for 'Korean Fund for Regenerative Medicine grant' with Prof. Shin (Hanyang Univ.), Prof. Huh (Chungnam Natl. Univ.), and Prof. Yang (Incheon Natl. Univ) in Chungju, South Korea. We had wonderful time for exchanging thoughts and ideas.
2021.06.13 Congratulations to Prof. Kim. His paper (Corresponding author) got accepted in the journal Biomaterials Science (Impact factor: 7.590)! This study provides in situ microenvironment remodeling influenced stem cell proliferation and enlargement within the hydrogel. Furthermore, stem cells engineered to express light-activated VEGF and incorporated into the dual-responsive system were applied to wound healing and an ischemic hindlimb model, proving their potential application in regenerative medicine.

2022.03.16 Congratulations to Prof. Hwan Drew Kim (Co-PIs: Prof. Heungsoo Shin - Hanyang University, Prof. Gangmoo Heo - Chungnam National University, and Prof. Kisuk Yang - Incheon National University) received a 'Korean Fund for Regenerative Medicine grant' supported by the integrated R&D departments of Korea as the research topic of 'Development of skeletal tissue regeneration and evaluation technology through the production of customized 3D spheroid-based vascularized complex tissue' Prof. Kim and Co-PIs will receive a total of ₩2,385,000,000 (equivalent 2,000,000 USD) over the next 56 months.
'Korean Fund for Regenerative Medicine grant', supported by the integrated R&D departments for up to 5 years, is a technology development project that can promote national health through regenerative medicine, an innovative medical technology to overcome the limitation of existing limitations treatments or medical technology fundamentally.'
