Postdoctoral Research Fellows

Description:

The Kim laboratory seeks highly motivated post-doctoral research fellow to investigate the mechanism by which vascular networks are formed from stem cells and to develop novel approaches to therapeutic vascularization and tissue regeneration. Up to one postdoctoral fellow position is available to work on the following Korea NRF projects:

Project – Bioengineering for human bone organoids. Goal: to elucidate the mechanisms by which blood vessels regulate the osteogenic activity of human mesenchymal stem cells/hematopoietic stem cells and to develop new therapeutic strategies to regenerate bone microenvironement niches.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree

  • A record of innovative publications (first-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals)

  • Experience with stem cell culture, molecular biology, and animal models is highly desirable

  • Independent in scientific research and writing, self-motivated, and ethical

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Strong interest in regenerative medicine

Graduate Students

Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized graduate students (Masters and PhD programs) to work on multiple projects in the areas of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The candidate will provide technical support using various techniques including cell culture, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, recombinant DNA techniques, material synthesis, qPCR, animal study. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn about research planning, data analysis, and scientific communication as well as techniques for cell and molecular biology, and animal (mouse) research under close guidance.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS or MS in Material Science, Biomedical Engineering, Biology or a related field is required.

  • Experience with cell culture, laboratory animals, and/or molecular biology is a plus.

  • A responsible individual with strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
