Before You Graduate High School or College...
Hold up!
If you’re still in high school and reading this, please look into earning college credits during your junior or senior year. It can save you one to two full years of university — which means more time to live, travel, and figure out who you want to be.
Not ready for college yet? Travel.
If you’re graduating high school and have no idea what major to choose… guess what? You don’t have to rush into college just because everyone else is doing it.
Take a year to travel.
I once met an 18-year-old girl in Athens — fresh out of high school, traveling the world on her own for a year. A total badass. I didn’t move abroad until I was 21, so seeing women that young out exploring the world inspired me deeply.
Women are doing this. You can too.
You can:
• Au pair abroad
• Teach English (some countries don’t require a degree!)
• Volunteer
• Work exchange
• Or simply backpack and explore
There are so many opportunities waiting for you. Check out my blog on How To Leave America
Graduated college and not ready for a 9–5? Travel.
This was literally my story.
At 21, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and had no idea what to do next… so I typed into Google:
“What to do with a bachelor’s degree?”
The answer?
Teach English in Spain.
So I applied to the Meddeas Program and that decision changed my entire life.

Let’s talk about those unspoken “rules”…
The world tells us:
• Graduate high school → go to college
• Graduate college → get a job → work forever
But when do you get to see the world?
When you’re 65? When your knees hurt and you’re finally “allowed” to rest?
Absolutely not.
Travel is where you discover who you are, not who everyone else expects you to be.
Travel is where you grow, expand, and shift into the highest version of yourself.
Taking a year off isn’t irresponsible — it’s one of the smartest things you can do for your life.
What I really want to tell you…
Is that, I’m not just recommending you take a year to travel.
Honestly?
I want women to travel forever.
To build their own income, their own business, and their own freedom — so they get to choose the life they want, not the one society hands them.
Start with a year if that’s what you can manage.
But my hope?
That you go, fall in love with the world, discover yourself… and never return to the small version of who you used to be.
Because once you travel — for months, or for years —
you will be changed forever. In the best possible way.
