Hi, I’m Kaliah. I was born and raised in Las Vegas (yes, actually from Vegas—but trust me, my childhood was totally normal and suburban). I spent most of my life studying audio technology and theater design. Backstage was my world: all-black outfits, headsets, endless rehearsals. I lived and breathed tech theater through middle school, high school, and three years of university. Thankfully, I banked some college credits early—highly recommend doing the same!
After earning my Bachelor’s degree, I did what any confused grad might do… I typed into Google: “What can you do with a bachelor’s degree?”
The answer that popped up? Teach English in Spain.
So I did exactly that.
I applied to the Meddeas Program (you can read about that journey in another tab), and in September 2019, I moved to Barcelona. That year changed everything. It was my first time living completely on my own—5,000 miles from home—my first real group of going-out friends, my first dates, my first taste of independence. It was the year I finally became my own person, free from the identity everyone back home knew me as. I could grow into whoever I wanted.
After finishing my 10 months of teaching, I traveled around Europe for two months, hopping through nine countries and squeezing every drop out of my visa. When I returned back to my hometown (Las Vegas) in September 2020, I fell into a deep sadness. I had just lived the most vibrant, exciting year of my life… and suddenly I was back to seeing friends maybe once a month.
That’s when I started making travel videos—sharing the cultural differences between America and Spain, sharing my stories, sharing pieces of the life I so deeply missed.
From 2020 to 2024, I worked professionally in audio around Las Vegas. One of my greatest accomplishments happened; getting to work for Cirque Du Soleil in the Audio Department. Even during this time I was still dreaming of travel. I was able to spend a month in Europe (November 2022) and a month in Japan (May 2023). When the show I was working on (The Bealtes Love show) closed, I took this as a sign from the universe. Why waste my 20s being in a dark basement pressing buttons when I could do what I really wanted? Explore the world.
So in October 2024, I quit my $40 an hour paying job, packed a carry on, and bought a one way flight to Europe. My plan: to do Worldpackers experiences and travel full time for the foreseeable future. I traveled to Amsterdam, Greece, Portugal, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, Paris, Greece (again), Albania, and Cyprus. I learned and grew with each different country. Through all of this, I was given the opportunity to host a group trip to Bali in March of 2026. It went very well check out My Youtube Video on the experience :)
For the rest of 2026 I'll be traveling though Asia.
I don't see myself stopping to create, travel, and share my journey on Tiktok, YouTube, and Instagram. My hope is simple: to inspire women to travel. To grow the way I grew. To expand their minds, their worldviews, and their sense of self. I want to show women that changing is beautiful, and that it’s absolutely possible to build a life you genuinely love.
Love, Kaliah
