Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By creating an account or using Dream Car-Pool, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide safe and efficient ride-sharing services, we collect several types of information from riders, drivers, and users of our platform.

A. Information You Provide directly

• Account Registration: Name, email address, phone number, password, profile photo, and preference settings.

• Driver Specific Info: Driving license details, vehicle information (make, model, year, license plate), vehicle registration, insurance details, and identity verification documents.

• Payment Information: Payment card details, banking information (for payout processing), and transaction history processed securely through third-party payment processors.

• Communications: Messages, calls, or feedback sent through our in-app chat, support channels, or ratings and reviews.

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data:

  • Riders: We collect precise or approximate location data when the app is running in the foreground to facilitate pickup and drop-off points.

  • Drivers: We collect precise location data when the app is open in the foreground or background to enable route tracking, calculate fares, and monitor safety.

• Device & Usage Data: IP address, device ID, operating system, browser type, mobile network operator, app performance metrics, and crash logs.

• Ride & Transaction Data: Trip details (pickup/drop-off addresses, distance, time, route taken), payment totals, and promotional codes used.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Service Delivery: To pair riders with drivers, calculate fares, process payments, and facilitate car-pooling/ride-sharing features.

• Safety & Security: To verify user identities, conduct driver background checks (where permitted by law), monitor trips in real-time, detect fraud, and enforce our Community Guidelines.

• Customer Support: To assist you with ride inquiries, handle complaints, and resolve technical issues.

• Platform Improvement: To analyze usage trends, optimize route recommendations, improve algorithm efficiency, and test new app features.

• Marketing & Communication: To send service updates, trip receipts, security alerts, and promotional offers (you can opt out of promotional communications at any time).

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only under the following circumstances:

A. Between Users (Riders and Drivers)

• Riders see: Driver name, photo, average rating, vehicle make/model, license plate number, and current location.

• Drivers see: Rider first name, photo (if provided), rating, pickup point, and drop-off destination.

B. With Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform, including:

• Payment gateway providers

• Identity verification & background check partners

• Cloud hosting and storage providers

• Analytics and mapping service providers (e.g., Google Maps API)

C. Legal & Safety Reasons

We may disclose your data if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental request, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of Dream Car-Pool, our users, or the public.

4. Location Data Controls & Permissions

Location features are core to the functionality of Dream Car-Pool:

• You can manage location permissions through your mobile device settings.

• Disabling location permissions will limit or prevent key app functions (such as requesting or offering rides).

5. Data Retention & Security

• Security: We employ industry-standard encryption (e.g., TLS/SSL) and administrative safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

• Retention: We retain personal information for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to fulfill legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain platform security. You may request account deletion at any time.

6. Your Data Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access & Export: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate account details directly through app settings or customer support.

• Deletion: Request the permanent deletion of your account and associated personal data.

• Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from promotional communications via the link in emails or through app notification preferences.

7. Children's Privacy

Dream Car-Pool is not intended for individuals under the age of 18 (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. When significant changes occur, we will notify you via the app or by email. Continued use of Dream Car-Pool after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Your privacy and trust are paramount. This policy outlines how Dream Carpool collects, protects, uses, and allows you to permanently delete your personal information.

9. Account & Personal Data Deletion [Self]

In compliance with Google Play Developer Policies, Dream Carpool provides an easy, in-app mechanism for users to delete their account and associated data at any time:

How to Delete Your Account In-App:

1. Open the Dream Carpool app and navigate to the Profile tab.

2. Tap the Settings (Gear Icon) at the top right corner.

3. Select Delete Account & Data at the bottom.

4. Confirm deletion in the prompt dialog. All personal data will be immediately purged.

Alternatively, you can request account and data deletion by sending an email from your registered address to privacy@dreamcarpool.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Requests are processed within 48 hours.

Dream Carpool enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against inappropriate content, objectionable behavior, harassment, or fraud. Users can flag objectionable content or block abusive users directly in chat and profile screens. Reported content is reviewed by our moderation team within 24 hours.

All communications and database records are encrypted in transit via SSL/TLS encryption and stored securely in Google Cloud infrastructure (Firebase Firestore). We do not sell or rent user data to third-party advertisers.
