诞/EGG

The Chinese word for "egg" can be written in two different ways: 蛋 and 诞, yet both are pronounced the same. While 蛋 directly translates to "egg," 诞 carries a more metaphorical meaning, symbolizing new life. This linguistic duality serves as a poignant reflection on my personal journey with diabetes.

I vividly recall a moment from my childhood when I was just 9 years old. My doctor's words resonated deeply with me as I lost consciousness due to low blood sugar levels. He solemnly warned, "安阳... 再来一次, 再来一次你可能就醒不来了." (Translation: Anyang... If it happens again, you might not wake up again.) The gravity of his concern was evident, as he feared the possibility of irreversible brain damage.

Just as some birds struggle more than others to break free from their eggshells, I find myself grappling with the daily challenges imposed by diabetes.

FAKE

"Fake" is a piece that explicitly reflects my inclination to avoid traditional painting. It portrays a still life of flowers and is attributed to an anonymous artist. While such works were once common, they are now scarce. I acquired the painting with the intention of incorporating it into my oeuvre, albeit with slight alterations.

Dream-Ashes

"When I was younger, my aspiration was to

grow and mature. However, as time has

passed, I now find myself compelled to

work..."

                                                -My parents

This work is a social experiment;

the sculpture is positioned in the heart of

one of the busiest subway stations,

Fridhemsplan in Stockholm, Sweden. Let's observe the reactions of the people."
