I am a board-certified doctorally-trained Physician Assistant passionate about medicine and PA education.
I have over 22 years of clinical experience which has inspired me to lend my talent to the education of the next generation of PAs. Having worked in various settings, including emergency medicine, urgent care, and hematology/oncology, has allowed me to fully embrace my previous roles as Associate Program Director and Director of Simulation Education at Northeastern University. My areas of expertise include History Taking and Physical Diagnosis, Medical Therapeutics, Infectious Diseases, Health Policy, and Evidence-Based Medicine.
I have served on several gubernatorial-appointed positions including the Massachusetts Board of Registration for Physician Assistants since 2009 and have been Chair of the Board since 2012. I have previously served on the Governor’s Advisory Council-Task Force on Foreign-Born Healthcare Professionals in Massachusetts and am currently serving on the Foreign-Trained Medical Professional Commission. Additionally, I was elected to serve as Director-at-Large for the Physician Assistant Education Association from 2016 to 2020, where I was actively involved in conversations about the implications of education and practice at the professional, clinical, and academic levels.
As Director of Clinical Pathways at DayToDay Health, I led a team of global clinicians where I assured that each clinical pathway was provider-driven and patient-centered. Incorporating clinical skills and knowledge with new technology that enhances patient education and advocacy is what drives my work.
Currently, as Vice Chair for Innovation at the Univerisity of Pittsburgh, I bring my knowledge and experience to bring new programs and ideas to life. Harnessing my passion for digital health I learn from and grow with our team of clinicians and educators to bring the most current applications of digital health learnings to our future leaders and healthcare providers. While technology and education will be ever-evolving, they will always need a human touch. I strongly believe that our work has to be rooted in both technology and humanity.
