You will receive a detailed schedule upon your arrival. Here's what you can expect:
Arrive between 3:00 - 5:00pm and then get ready for the week with buffet dinner, tour of camp, orientation to the week, camp wide campfire, and group building activities led by staff. Finish up the day with cabin time and lights out at 10:30pm.
Start your day with a camp tradition of Morning Watch led by camp staff and then onto join the rest of camp for breakfast. You will pack out your lunch and leave for worksites at the latest by 9:30am. Eat lunch at the work site. Return to camp for an afternoon shower and camp activities (crafts, campfires, hike, etc). Dinner is served at 6:00pm at Founders Lodge. There is time for evening devotions and group processing of the day before lights out at 10:30pm.
The day will start the same with Morning Watch and breakfast. Your day's schedule will be determined by your choices. Before dinner the group will gather for some group processing and wrapping up the week of service. Dinner is served at 6:00pm in the Dining Hall. Join in the camp wide closing campfire after dinner with lights out at 10:30pm.
Your last day at camp will start with Morning watch followed by breakfast. Enjoy some camp activities together. Lunch is served at 1:00pm in the dining hall. After packing, departure will be at 3:30pm

There are some great local options for your adventure day. This needs to be finalized by March 15th.
Hike to Cross Rock + Climbing: The hike to Cross Rock is one of the most beautiful parts of the Lutherock property, offering sweeping views of Tennessee, North Carolina, and the Virginia Highlands. This moderate hike covers 2 miles round-trip (1 mile up, 1 mile down). As part of this trip, participants will also have the opportunity to rock climb at the Cross Rock climbing area. Several climbing routes are available, ranging from beginner-friendly to moderately challenging. All climbing is led by Lutherock’s trained adventure staff.
Alpine Sky Park + Giant Zip: This exciting onsite experience features a variety of aerial challenges set in Lutherock’s upper saddle adventure course. The experience culminates in a 790-foot dual zip line and a 330-foot zip line, offering breathtaking views and adrenaline-filled fun. Designed for all ability levels, this course allows participants to challenge themselves and cheer each other on!
Alpine Tower + Giant Swing: Climb to new heights on Lutherock’s iconic 50-foot Alpine Tower, which offers over six different climbing routes for varying levels of difficulty. After conquering the tower, participants will get to experience the Giant Swing, a thrilling and memorable part of our adventure program that is always a favorite. This combo brings together teamwork, personal challenge, and high-flying fun.
Blue Ridge Parkway: "America's Favorite Drive" is a slow-paced and relaxing drive revealing stunning long-range vistas and close-up views of the rugged mountains and pastoral landscapes of the Appalachian Highlands. Stop for Lunch and hikes right off the parkway.
Explore a local area like: Boone - Blowing Rock - Banner Elk
Worley’s Cave: This adventure includes a 2.5-mile loop through the famous Worley’s Cave, guided by trained Lutherock staff. All necessary gear and meals for the day will be provided. The caving experience typically takes about 4 hours, with approximately 45 minutes of travel each way. $40 Per Person
Tubing on the New River: This full-day tubing experience is provided by Wahoo’s Adventures. Located on the scenic New River, their outpost offers fun games and amenities in addition to tubing. Groups have unlimited runs along a several-mile stretch of the river with their all-day pass. Meals can be packed out, and a cooler float is included so your group can bring drinks and snacks on the river. $30 Per Person
French Broad Rafting: Led by French Broad Adventures, this whitewater rafting trip covers Class III rapids from the Barnardsville put-in to the Stack House take-out. The trip lasts around 4 hours and includes a lunch provided by the outfitter. The drive from Lutherock to the river is about 1.5 hours. This trip is always a favorite with beautiful mountain views and a big dose of adventure! $90 Per Person
Grandfather Mountain: Beyond its hikes, you can walk across America's highest suspension footbridge on the Mile High Swinging Bridge, check out the Nature Discovery Center and some of the animals that call Appalachia home (black bear, otters, cougars, elk, and eagles). $32 Per Person

You will likely be housed in one of these 2 options. There are other locations on camp, but these are the ones we try and place Disaster Camp groups at. You will not have a choice in the cabins you stay in, but this will give you an idea of what you might expect. Click on the images to get more information from Lutherock's website.
Our campus is in the mountains of Western North Carolina and has four traditional seasons. Please check our weather (Boone, NC 28607) before arriving to ensure you’ve packed correctly. Depending on the season and type/length of visit, please consider the following:
Lutherock temperatures can fluctuate quickly. Check the weather forecast for Boone, NC frequently before departing.
Comfortable walking shoes. Many buildings are connected by gravel roads or walking trails.
Hiking shoes. There are many great trails on site to explore
Umbrella or rain coat.
To maintain our peaceful atmosphere, rooms are not equipped with telephones, alarm clocks or televisions. Some Cottages and Cabins have refrigerators and microwaves in them. There are little to no cooking materials in any accommodations.
Smoking: Smoking is prohibited on campus.
Quiet hour: All events and private gatherings in common areas, public areas and grounds must respect Lutherock’s campus- wide 11:00 p.m. quiet hour.

*Disclaimer*- there is a natural creek that runs through our driveway when you arrive at camp, it rarely rises above 3-4 inches deep and is perfectly safe to drive through.
