The news on workshop was published by “The Samaja” which is one of the leading news papers in Odisha. The news was publicized in the paper on page 8 of Sambalpur edition dated 01-April-2018. The AICTE sponsored Faculty Development Program was organized by Dr. Pandaba Patro & Dr. Hrushikesh Barik, Faculty Members of Department of Mechanical Engineering at VSSUT, Burla, Odisha. This is the first of its kind workshop in using OpenFOAM for fluid flow and heat transfer simulations.

The workshop started with a registration of delegates followed by inauguration of the workshop by Vice-chancellor of VSSUT, Dean CCDE, HoD of Mechanical Engineering and the organizers. Sessions on introduction to CFD, OpenFOAM, demo on code, demo on case structure and practice sessions were delivered by Dr. Kannan B T from SRIMST. A half day field visit (Hirakud Dam) was arranged for the external participants and the trainers. The workshop ended with a formal valedictory ceremony, certificate distribution and a group photo.
