While most of humanity believes that Beowulf had landed a fatal blow on the dragon Ormr and that was his final act before dying and appointing Wiglaf to be his successor as king. The truth is Ormr lived! Entering a deep slumber to heal from his wounds. While thought to be dead Winglaf ordered for him to be thrown in the depths of the ocean where the monument built for Beowulf was completed. He then slept at the bottom of the ocean for eight hundred years while healing from the battle that took place with Beowulf. In that time the pressure from being at the bottom of the sea began to turn his scales to a more solid material that couldn't be breached by any weapon.

When the Ormr finally emerged from the water he entered a completely unfamiliar world that looked nothing as he remembered. It was the height of the Middle Ages in what would be present day Sweden. Where the small town that he had known had grown into a stone city he could never had imagined. The only thing he saw that he recognized was the monument built to Beowulf. Seeing this giant statue on the shore adorned with gold and jewels from his treasure drove him into a rage. Remembering how he had been stabbed and thrown in the ocean. This being the time of kings and knights the weapons had improved from what Ormr knew. However he had grown stronger, faster and more deadly in his time healing. For two hundred years of his rage he attacked, burned, and killed the people from different kingdoms all over Europe and the the known world. He began to amass and exceed the riches that he had lost.

When Ormr finally was able to cool down he was able to meet Freyja, the daughter of Fafnir. Fafnir was a norse Dwarf who was cursed to shape-shift into a dragon and when he had Freyja she had the ability to shape-shift at will. He fell in love with her Freyja was strong and powerful and had riches of her own that she brought into the union. Ormr and Freyja moved to Eisriesenwelt, Austria in an ice cave at the top of a mountain. They began to build a massive castle and got all of the locals to worship them as gods. Marriage had really changed him and made it so that he wanted to stay in more and protect the wealth that he had built and gained in marriage. As time passed The Dragon and his wife eventually had a son with eyes that were a beautiful cobalt blue and so he was named Cobalt. He too had the ability to shape-shift like his mother. Ormr started to change how he interacted with the world when Cobalt was born. He began to trade with neighboring kingdoms and investing in land (that he didn't conquer) slowly growing his wealth and influence. When he eventually died he had left a major influence on the world despite very few humans knowing his name or anything about him. He had sponsored many politicians for governments from the most powerful countries, and secretly ran many of the most successful companies around the world. Despite his power and reach he was very protective of Cobalt not allowing him to leave the castle for any reason at all. He was stuck at home until his father died. This story begins with his adventure in finding his way in the world and begins at the funeral.
