Main responsibilities includes:
Research Responsibilities:
Establishing a sound research base within the Department to pursue individual and collaborative research work including Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTPs) projects.
To carry out research and scholarly activities in the area of composite materials and to apply for further funding for research.
Managing research projects within the University, including their financial control and to supervise research students, technical and other support staff engaged in research.
To explore potential commercial context of research outputs and protect such research results by patent application or copyright.
Publishing research outcomes in appropriate journals of international standing.
Identifying and explore with the Department and the University any entrepreneurial opportunities.
Attend and present research findings and papers at academic and professional conferences, and to contribute to the external visibility of the department.
Teaching Responsibilities:
Teaching Level 5 and Level 6 modules including Industrial Control System, Manufacturing Automation and Control, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering etc.
Continuously reviewing and developing the curriculum, designing and accrediting of new degrees or other academic awards.
To give lectures, seminars, tutorials and other classes as appropriate in support of the required teaching obligations.
To supervise MSc/MPhil and PhD student’s project work.
To ensure that student feedback on teaching is sought through questionnaires and other sources and to respond constructively to such feedback.
To maintain a broad knowledge of up-to-date research and scholarship in relevant fields and ensuring that teaching meets the standards expected.
To support and comply with the University and Departmental teaching quality assurance standards and procedures.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Undertaking departmental roles and management functions assigned by the Head of Department.
Attending departmental meetings and to participate in other committees and working groups within the department, the faculty, and the University.
Participating in relevant professional activities.
Engaging in continuous professional development.
Ensuring research project compliance with health and safety in all aspects of work.

Project Officer July 2012 – June 2013
Worked on the ASTUTE (Advanced SusTainable manUfacturing Technologies) project to stimulate growth in the convergence region of Wales by applying advanced engineering technologies to manufacturing challenges.
Pro-actively contributed to and conducted R&D work, including gathering data, preparing and analyzing the data; generating original ideas and presenting results.
Participated in the caravan project, to develop composite sandwich structures to make them lighter and stronger.
Developed FEA models in the Abaqus software in order to analyse the mechanical performance of composite sandwich structures.
Used DMA, TMA and DSC machines to investigate the composite materials properties as a function of temperature, time, frequency, stress, atmosphere or a combination of these factors.
Organized the third annual composite conference, ACMTAA-2013

CAD/CAM Engineer January 2004 – August 2005
Main responsibilities were:
3D CAD modeling of automobile parts in Pro/E.
To develop the CAM models and generate NC data for CNC machines.
Simulate the tool path motion in Pro/E to check error detection.
Generation of production drawings and Manufacturing layouts.
Select and apply appropriate tools and techniques to plan, control and manage the manufacturing processes for the overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Analyze and develop supplier and customer relationships.
Evaluate production systems, equipment, work methods and products.
