About Me

Beyond what you will read on my Curriculum Vitae is a life dedicated to learning from and with anyone and anything with which I am lucky enough to come into contact. I spend any time I have in the classroom (virtual or in-person), in a book, or in the woods--and sometimes all three at the same time as the woods are a classroom to me--with people I love.

I still believe, after three years as an assistant professor, that my 20 years as a secondary English educator and my 24 years as a student of literacy in K-12 spaces have assisted me being an effective, well-organized, and student-centered teacher educator and researcher at SUNY Cortland. It is my hope that this portfolio is a testament to that professional persona and speaks to my dedication to literacy instruction that is life-long and humanizing.

The purpose of this portfolio is to demonstrate my excellence and effectiveness at SUNY Cortland, documenting my teaching record, scholarship, and service to my department, the School of Education, the university, and professional communities.
