Service
“Service” is not about duty. It is about building relationships. I feel that many use the word “service” to imply a one-way relationship between the servant and those who are served. I look at “service” as an act of sharing myself, my experience, and expertise that helps build relationships with the stakeholders of the university (students, faculty, and the community). I believe that service is a natural product or manifestation of being a teacher and a scholar, and is a crucial part of being a responsible citizen.
