I don't use any cashback extensions while shopping online. I just check sites like Rakuten to see if they are offering anything worthwhile on a product I am planning to buy and will use the cashback site if the deal is worth it.

This summer I added the Rakuten chrome extension and always activate the cashback options when applicable to the site im purchasing from. I went in to check my account to see how much cashback I have earned. To my surprise it shows nothing. I have made a ton of purchases this summer and its showing nothing earned or pending. I even made 2 purchases yesterday and both do not show up even after activating the cashback pop up from the Rakuten chrome extension. Im furious and completely done with Rakuten.

How the toolbar works:

1. Add the extension to your browser and sign in to your Club Rakuten account

2. Click on the pop up to activate your Rakuten Points

3. Make purchases as usual and see the points roll in

Similar to the PayPal Honey browser extension, Rakuten also offers some discount codes for select shops (though, Rakuten's discount codes are not as expansive as Honey's). It's a nice way to pay a little less and receive cash back at the same time, especially since you cannot have Rakuten activated while also using another browser extension to save on your orders.
