Hi everyone. I saw around that this is perceived by many as a very annoying lack in Photos, because you have everything mixed up by default in Camera roll. If you want to see your own pics separated from Whatsapp, Instagram, Downloaded pics... you have to add them manually to a new album day by day. Not anymore with these two shorts! They work flawless as they were part of the OS.

The problem with this one is that sometimes it misses a pic/vid among the ones to copy; with fast taken pictures, so that more than one is taken on the same second, or when the iPhone is overloaded. You can use this second shortcut to solve the problem. It scans ALL the library of the last 7 DAYS and it checks if there are missing pics/vids from the target Album. I set an Automation so that it runs every day at 5 am, but you can launch it every time you want. Of course it takes a little more to run than the first shortcut (If you don't have instagram installed, you must use this one )

Took a ton of pictures today on vacation. I was able to view them on the camera itself after taking them. Got home, put memory card in my computer, pictures weren't there. Put memory card back in camera, pictures were gone from there too. What the heck?!

I tried running a data recovery tool to no avail. The files it found for me were all old pics. Nothing from today's date so I did not pay the money to recover them. All pictures from yesterday and before are still there.

My brother tried multiple recovery programs and had success with ZAR v. 9.2 (they have newer versions...this is just the one he happened to have from a recovery attempt on his phone a year or so ago). ZAR is the only one that was able to search deeper into the memory card and found all the pics.

Interestingly enough, there were 172 pics that were lost and when he checked them all for recovery and began the process, a progress bar showed on the screen. The first 171 pictures took just a few minutes and only about 1/3 of the progress bar. When it got to picture 172, it took another 10-15 minutes and the remaining 2/3 of the progress bar. Things that make you go hmmm...right?

Here is my journey:

1. Went to Canon to download the software for my laptop (I have a Macbook Air), but the website says there is no software for Catalina.

2. Tried to download the software for Mojave figuring it was close enough. It wasn't and wouldn't even open. (Pretty sure this is software is for the OLD CANON iMAGE GATEWAY Online Photo Album which was discontinued in March 2020.)

3. Tried connecting my camera wirelessly to my laptop hoping it would just work. It didn't.

4. Tried attaching my camera to my laptop with a USB-B cord, using an USB-A to USB-C adapter to connect the cord to my laptop. Didn't work. Computer didn't read the camera it all.

Solution:

1. Finally figured out that I should go to

2. Walked through the steps to connect my camera (simple enough - put your camera on wifi, put in your email to verify your account, etc.)

3. Selected the little Cloud with a Camera icon on my camera.

4. Selected on my laptop that I wanted to also upload to Google Photos.

5. Little green light on camera started flickering and the pics started rolling in to the ihub.image.canon website as well as my Google Photos. (Pics are only on ihub for 30 days, is says)

6. Downloaded ALL pics from ihub to my laptop. They arrived in two zip drives and open in Preview.

So, now my pics are safe and sound in Google Photos AND my laptop.

Took me TWO DAYS to figure this out, so I hope this helps someone else! Before I would just hook up a cord and viola! the pics would download. For some reason, I couldn't get it to work this time. Good luck!

I am pretty sure that plugging your computer in with the adapter and a real usb-cord and running image capture would solve your problem. My camera works just fine with Apple Software and my dock. One thing is that if you use the USB, you have to turn off wifi.

I am using the BN-Takephoto to take camera pictures on Android, However, after taking apicture, the user needs to wait 2-5 sec, as for some reason, Android seems to reload the page. Did you experience also this issue? If, were you able to solve it?

The camera roll on your device only uploads to OneDrive - it does not sync photos both ways. That means you can delete uploaded photos and videos from your device, and the copies in OneDrive won't be affected.

Please advise me. I would like to buy very affordable, rugged cameras or smartphones to give or lend to schoolchilden in Botswana so that they can take photos of very small insects that are attracted to external house lights. Similar pics can be found in this project.

A small pocket, point-and-shoot camera, the Canon Ixus at a cost of about $140 here in Botswana, has been used to take most of the pics, here in our village bug project. It can get as close as about 3 cm from an ant on the wall and take a reasonable photo in pitch darkness with its flash. Its not too difficult to use.

You can consider getting Clip-on Macro lens for mobile phones. They are compatible to all brands of mobile phone and reasonably priced. A friend of mine use Ulanzi 75mm x10 Macro lens, and he managed to take very good pics of tiny stuff as small as 5-10 mm. Just need to practise with it and have steady hands, which is a must for taking macro pictures anyway. It is available online, for between US$25-35.

I would guess the cheapest option would be outdated used smartphones with clip on macro lenses. Such lenses often cost only $5 or so, and outdated smart phones with decent cameras are, in the US, often available for under $20. I have no knowledge of how these costs might differ in Botswana.

But how would the cheap 2nd hand smartphones with clip on macro lenses do in near darkness with their flash at close distance ? I have no experience at all with smartphones and only ith point and shoot cameras. perhaps becoz Im ancient.

Smartphones and clip-ons are new to me but how would they fair at focusing in near darkness and what would be the quality of the pics when their flash is used. I need a comparison with a cheap pocket camera.

My problem with my camera for bugs is the maximum magnification is not /very/ high, in that a small spider is still small. But, it /can/ capture small spiders up to maybe small crab spider size. No details on ants, but can do caterpillars, some seed bugs, Leucauge spiders, etc.

There are circular flashlights that you clip to the phone too such as this 10851085 46.1 KB They are usually designed to youtubers/broadcasting people, but it should work for taking pics of bugs too.

Amazon in the US is currently offering refurbished Pixel 3a phones for $150 (USD) and refurb Pixel 2 for $90. professional reviewers noted both of these phones as having among the best cameras available in smartphones at the time of each of their respective launches (before TOF cameras and big sensors started making their way into flagship phones).

The size and detail of a camera's image sensor will always be paramount when looking for the best camera. Full-frame cameras generally perform better than crop-sensor APS-C counterparts or Micro Four Thirds cameras because they can provide a wider dynamic range and lower image noise which is especially useful when photographing in low light.

It's also important to consider lens availability when buying into a camera system. The main competitors listed here like Nikon, Canon, Sony and Olympus all have a wide range of camera lenses that is also complemented by third-party lens manufacturers like Sigma, Tamron and more. We've also tested and ranked the best lenses for astrophotography and best zoom lenses. Each will come with different maximum apertures, altering the camera's settings whilst shooting to maintain good exposures so be sure to pick the lens that's right for your shooting subject. If in doubt, get the widest maximum aperture you can but bear in mind they will be more expensive.

Overall, the Nikon Z8 is the best type of camera for photos, according to our in-depth reviews of all the most popular camera models on the market. However, the best camera for an individual depends on its intended use.

Astrophotographers will need to seek out full-frame cameras that handle high ISO noise well to produce clean night sky shots. However, portrait and wedding photographers may need a camera with an electronic shutter to remain quiet when shooting intimate moments. Further still, wildlife, sports and action photographers will need a camera with a high frame burst speed to capture fast-moving subjects.

We highlight which camera is best for what purposes in this guide, but we also have other helpful pages, such as the best cameras for beginners which are typically smaller and less expensive, best mirrorless cameras and best dslr cameras that concentrate on their respective camera types and the best cameras for low light for those that love golden hour and the blue moment.

The Nikon Z8, Sony A7R IV, Nikon Z9, Canon EOS R7 and Canon EOS R5 are the top five cameras in the world right now. After testing every single model, we've given them four and a half stars out of five each, and in the case of the Nikon Z8, five stars!

This depends on the type of photography a professional shoots and there are many professionals that shoot with every camera brand out there. However, Nikon, Canon and Sony are most common, but manufacturers such as Panasonic, Leica, Hasselblad, Olympus and more are favoured by some.

There are two main types of cameras on the market when advancing from compacts and smartphones: DSLR and mirrorless. Though increasingly DSLR lines are being discontinued by many manufacturers as they refocus their efforts on mirrorless models.

On DSLRs, the view through the viewfinder is piped up the lens by a mirror and prism arrangement, while on a mirrorless camera, the viewfinder is electronic where a live feed from the sensor is displayed on a small screen. Mirrorless cameras are newer tech and tend to be smaller and lighter. You can see more comparisons in our guide to DSLR vs mirrorless cameras. 17dc91bb1f
