DOU is a private university operating since 2004 in compliance with educational regulations under the Bureau of Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education of the State of California, USA, and pursuant to California Education Code (CEC) Section 94739(b)(6).

DOU's main office is located at Dhammakaya International Meditation Center (DIMC) in Azusa, 40 miles East of Los Angeles, California; 865 E. MONROVIA PLACE, AZUSA, CA 91702

1. To provide students with complete knowledge of Dhamma as given by the Lord Buddha; scriptures, practice, and attainment.

2. To apply each student with the knowledge, comprehension, and capability of how to be "good friend" to their family, society, and the world.

3. To develop students as leaders and role models of morality for society by generating kindness and world peace.
