DOU Activities & Events

On Saturday, June 14th, 2025, DOU held a Comprehensive Exam of the year 2025.  The exam was held at Wat Phra Dhammakaya, from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m.  

There were told of 22 students attended; 19 monks and 3 laypeople.

On Saturday, September 21, 2024, DOU (Dhammakaya Open University) had celebrated 21th anniversary.  This year holds exceptional significance as it also marks the 80th birthday of Venerable Luang Por Dhammajayo, the founder of DOU.  

On this auspicious occasion, the 21st anniversary of the founding of Dhammakaya Open University, the alumni, benefactors, and students, has organized three grand meritorious events to honor the 80th birthday of Venerable Luang Por Dhammajayo.  These events include the Alms Offering Ceremony to support the education of monks and novices worldwide, the Tripitaka Offering Ceremony, and the Grand Alms-Giving Ceremony to 108 monks in honor of Venerable Luang Por Dhammajayo’s 80th birthday.

On Saturday, September 16, 2023, DOU (Dhammakaya Open University) had celebrated 20th anniversary.  In the event, we held the Robe Offering Ceremony and Maha Sanghadana Offering Ceremony to 108 Monks.  

For 20 years, DOU has been providing scholarships to approximately 7,000 monks and novices around the world. Through your support from registering for our courses, we were able to provide funding for monks and novices, therefore, keeping Buddhism stronger and spreading the teachings of Lord Buddha.
