Chaos

Chaos

We all know by now that each Dot has 7 physical Traits (not counting colour of course), and that these Traits can, depending on their parameters, result in a Dot being categorized as an Archetype.

But what if the normal Trait parameter limits were to be effectively disposed of?  This is where the Chaos begins!

With the exception of the Face Trait, there is now a chance that a Dot can have physical Traits that exceed previously known limits in terms of physical appearance—imagine HUGE Horns, OUTRAGEOUS Plumage etc. and you get the picture.

When a Dot has a Chaos Trait, you will see above symbol adjacent the Dot in question.   If you want to see exactly what Chaos Trait/s the Dot has, you will need to view the Dot Card.  Chaos Traits employ a similar game mechanic to the normal Traits in that they can be inherited via Hatch-A-Dot.  Chaos Traits have the same cost as Mythic (4*) Traits so they are going to be expensive to obtain in terms of Sundrops and/or Peridough.

Chaos Dots can appear infrequently as wild Dots or Feral Dots during the normal course of the game and are likely to have just a single Chaos Trait, but their appearance will be boosted during certain Events.

If a Keeper encounters a Wild or Feral Chaos Dot then the Hatch-A-Dot process can be used to try and gain the Chaos Trait on their own baby Dot.  Hatch-A-Dot costs for Chaos Dots mirrors those of Dots with Mythical (4*) Traits.  If a Keeper gains a previously undiscovered Chaos Trait, they will have the opportunity to name that particular Chaos Trait!

Encounter Chaos Dot —> Hatch-A-Dot (with the Chaos Trait) —> Name the Dot —>go back to AR mode —> a pop-up will prompt you to provide a name for the Chaos Trait.

Once named, all versions of that Chaos Trait (Ferals and Wilds) will have the same name.  Note that visually similar Chaos Traits can be named differently by different Keepers as the actual trait parameters will be different.  Once named, that Dot and its Chaos Trait are eligible for, and entered into the new “Traits Library” (more on that on another page!).

Below we have added a couple of samples showing some 'subtle' Chaos Traits, there are many more to be discovered, and many more even more Chaotic than these ones!
