CLASSROOM SCREEN CHALLENGE

Hello

Welcome to the 5TH #DOTCHALLENGE

This challenge earns you 2 gold dots and asks you to think about how you can use this digital whiteboard in your classroom.

Your challenge is to become familiar with the tools and send in a screen shot or photo of you using it in your classroom.

Put on your thinking hats, I have seen some very creative uses for this tool, there may be some bonus DOTS awarded for teacher creativity :)

Classroom Screen is a fantastic digital tool for you to use in the classroom and is compatible through any device. You do not need to download anything, it should just work. The program works best in Google Chrome and Safari

It automatically generates a brand new stunning photo each time for you to use. The doc with the tools are at the bottom of the page. Check out the following examples!

It has a range of features for you to use:

1. Adjust the language

2. Change the background - the website has a range of HD images for you to use of stunning locations, they could be used as prompts for discussion, you can also upload your own.

3. Random Student Selector - type in all of your students as a list (or copy and paste them in) click the button, and a random student is chosen.

4. Roll the Dice - You can roll up to 3 dice (this option is found on the same tab as the random student selector).

5. Sound Level - great for monitoring noise levels in the classroom.

6. QR Code Generator - paste the link of any site you want the students to go to, the app will auto generate a QR code for you. Students just have to scan it with the camera on their iPad and away they go.

7. Drawing Tool - Treat this like a digital whiteboard.

8. Smaller Drawing Tool - Same as above but in a smaller window allowing you to display more on the screen.

9. Text Box - gives you a space to type into with some basic word editing tools.

10. Work Symbols - Has easy to understand symbols to use for students around noise levels and classroom expectations.

11. Traffic Light - Digital version for you to use in your lessons how you wish.

12. Timer - Set the timer, there is a digital hour glass as well.

13. Clock & Calendar

14. EXIT POLL - This you will see down the bottom right of the main screen with a red and green bar. Click on this and it will take you to another page where you can quickly setup a chart to gather info about how a lesson went from students. Great to use at the end of each lesson as a reflection tool or just before students go home. You could also use this as part of your wellbeing program to touch base with kids regularly.

When you have finished, take a photo of this in action or a screen shot and email it to me using #dotchallenge. If you are on Twitter, be sure to tweet it using the same hashtag!
