There are lots of ways to support the orchestra!
You can follow us online using social media:
We are on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/DorkingPhilharmonia
And Twitter https://twitter.com/DorkingPhil
And you can also support us financially, enabling us to put on larger works.
One way is by placing an ad in our programme - contact us on friends@dorkingphilharmonia.org.uk to do this, or see below for other ways to raise money for the orchestra - some at no cost at all to you!
We also benefit from the support of the fantastic Humphrey Richardson Taylor Charitable Trust.
Would you like to support the orchestra on a modest scale financially, while getting to know us better socially and becoming a part of our musical community?
For an annual subscription (£20 individual or £35 joint membership), you will receive:
£1 off entry to our concerts
A free programme at each concert
2 invitations to annual Friends' Concert*
Regular Friends newsletters

* The Friends' Concert is an exclusive event for our Friends and their guests, and takes place a couple of weeks after our spring concert. It is one of the highlights of the orchestra's year (and hopefully the Friends'!) and is the orchestra's chance to show appreciation for the Friends' support.
The evening is prepared entirely by the members of the orchestra. Groups or individuals prepare a range of pieces for the Friends to enjoy in a relaxed setting. They often showcase instruments and musical styles that they don't play in the usual orchestral setting. There is also the chance to chat over a complimentary supper, also prepared by members of the orchestra.

One-off donations
Perhaps as part of a legacy, or the result of local fundraising activites or community actions - these are always welcome, and can be used for a single significant purchase.
An example of a significant piece of funding came from the Foyle Foundation & Gatwick Airport Community Trust in 2005. They purchased a set of timpani for the orchestra - as our most commonly used percussion these have been invaluable.
