We are a friendly orchestra of largely amateur musicians based in Dorking, who practise together each Wednesday evening and normally perform three concerts a year in St Martin's Church right in the heart of town. As with most groups, our usual routine was unexpectedly disrupted by Covid, and rehearsals and concerts were put on hold for many months. It was all the more enjoyable then to get back together in the second half of 2021, and to put on a beautiful concert featuring Jenny Janse performing Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto in November 2021. We look forward to sharing more music with you this season, and will be bringing you Shostakovich's fantastic second piano concerto alongside works by Beethoven and Brahms in March 2022. We look forward to seing you there! There will be plenty of space to maintain social distancing in the church to ensure that everyone feels safe.

We are also excited to be welcoming several new players to the orchestra this season in both the woodwind and string section. If you are interested in joining the orchestra, please see the 'New players' section below.
