Master's research
During my master's, supported by the Chilean National Agency for Research and Development (ANID–Chile), I obtained funding from the Chilean Antarctic Institute for thesis development. Furthermore, I secured funds from the Government of Canada and the University of Chile for research stays at McGill University and the University of Munich, respectively.
Afterwards, I was selected for the Young Scientists Program by the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB). The meeting of the 40 young scientists worldwide was held at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Also, I was among the 100 Biotechnology Young Leaders in Latin America, from AllBiotech initiative.
As a Pacific Alliance Fellow, I conducted research at the National University of Colombia and presented my research in Brazil as a São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) awardee.
Doctoral and postdoc research
After a year as a PhD student in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at CEBIB, University of Chile, funded by ANID–Chile, I moved to the University of Cambridge for a PhD as an ANID-Cambridge Trust Fellow.
Before the pandemic, I participated in the Biosummit 3.0 at MIT, USA. When returning to the lab amid COVID-19, the British Society for Plant Pathology granted me funds to finish my research.
The postdoc training was funded by a grant I obtained from the United Nations University. In 2024, I was selected by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) for its Future Leaders Mentorship Program. More recently, I received the Sung Soo Moon Award at the SynBYSS conference held in Hawaii (USA).
International courses and conferences
Across the years, I have participated in several courses and presented at renowned global conferences, mostly funded by various societies I am a member of. These conferences include: The Microbiology Society, FEMS, ISME, SynBioBeta, Gordon Research Conferences, ASM Microbe, among others. Funding sources (deeply acknowledged!) have been the above-mentioned societies and the Biochemical Society.

Gordon Research Conference (GRC) call !
