Dongshin's history
■ Born in Gwangju in 1920, he studied in Japan at the age of 17 to study painting
■He graduated from Kawabata Art School in Japan from 1939 to 1944
■In 1943, he won the contest of the Japan Free Artists Association and joined the group as a full-fledged artist. After liberation, he returned to Korea and played a role in expanding a new area of the Korean Watercolor Company, which was close to barren at the time
■After holding the first solo exhibition in Gwangju in 1947, he founded the Watercolor Creators Association in 1968, was elected as the first president, and held the inaugural exhibition until 1986, when he held the 26th watercolor solo exhibition. The 20th solo exhibition was held in the gallery of the Seoul Newspaper Hall
■In 1974, the 21st and 22nd solo exhibitions were held in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, and he was elected as the first president of the Korea Watercolor Association in 1975
■ He held an invitation exhibition at Heehwalang in 1976, and was invited to a textbook art exhibition at Seoul Arts Center in 1977. In 1982, he held the 25th invitation solo exhibition at Shinsegae Department Store Gallery.
■ Membership of the 1972 Conception Exhibition Membership Exhibited at the first exhibition of contemporary art from 1983-88; advisory member of the Korean Watercolor Association in 1985; and senior artist in 1993
■He left Gwangju in 1978 and worked in Seoul, and in 1989, he moved to Yeosu, a rich city
Activities
■He studied under Park Soo-geun at Geumgangsan Mountain in 1936. He dated Munhak-su and Jang Yi-seok, and in 1937, he moved to Tokyo with the help of Lee Kyung-seok, a student at the Japanese Sohwa Art Exhibition in Tokyo. He entered the Department of Yanghwa at the Kawabada Art School in Japan in 1939 and dated Munhak-su and Lee Jung-seop in Tokyo, Japan in 1940.
■In 1943, he won the 7th contest of the Japan Free Art Creator Association, became a full member of the Japan Free Art Creator Association, and participated in the Japan Free Art Creation Association exhibition at the Tokyo Ueno Museum of Art
■ He returned to Korea in 1945
■ From 1945 to 1949, he served as an art teacher at Gwangju Seo Middle School and Jeonnam Girls' High School
■The first solo exhibition (Gwangju Library) was held in 1947.
■In 1968, he served as the first president of the Watercolor Creators' Association and participated in the Watercolor Creators' Association's inaugural exhibition (Y Sarong)
■In 1970, the Ocher Society was founded and rotated in Yeosu and Gwangju
■The 20th solo exhibition (Hwarang of Seoul Newspaper Culture Center) was held in 1973
■The 21st and 22nd individual exhibitions in Tokyo and Osaka, 1974
