Bae Dong-shin (裵東信, 1920-2008) is a first-generation painter in the Korean contemporary art world and has been evaluated as a big star in the art world who expanded the horizons of watercolor painting. Bae Dong-shin, an artist who has insisted on watercolor painting throughout his life, is a living witness to watercolor painting, which began during the formation of the Western painting world in the modern era and has continued to follow the single path of watercolor painting. He has pursued harmony between East and West for over 70 years. As a result, he has established himself as the ‘leading watercolorist in the Korean modern and contemporary art world.
