To live out the spirit of a scholar by endlessly exploring ideas, advancing knowledge, and empowering others through education. I want to contribute to our collective knowledge and make it meaningful for people. Wherever my career leads, I seek to deepen human understanding while creating opportunities for others to learn, grow, and reach their potential.
I've always believed that being a student is more than just attending classes. To me, it's a way of living. It means staying curious, asking questions beyond "good enough," creating new knowledge, and sharing what I've learned with others. Looking back, this mindset has quietly shaped almost everything I've chosen to do.
I grew up surrounded by curious and creative role models: my parents came from a line of academics. I naturally developed a deep passion for exploring ideas and solving problems. This passion led me toward mathematics, where I found not only intellectual challenge but also a lifelong purpose.
So far, I've tried to express that in three ways.
First, by learning deeply. My proudest academic achievements aren't my grades, but the fact that I actively seek out difficult courses, ask questions whenever I'm curious, and treat every class as an opportunity to understand something a little better than yesterday.
Second, by contributing to knowledge. I've always looked for opportunities to think like a researcher. Whether through class projects, educational content development, or research and development roles in organizations, I enjoy exploring unfamiliar ideas and turning them into something meaningful.
Third, by sharing knowledge. Mathematics can be wonderfully abstract, but I've found that one of the most meaningful ways to make it useful is through education. Tutoring, writing textbooks, creating educational content, mentoring students, designing olympiad problems, and facilitating learning experiences have all been different ways of helping others discover the beauty of mathematics for themselves.
Real progress in anything requires cleverness, confidence in our unique perspectives, and also a sort of empathy. While what I'm pursuing is a relatively abstract field, I believe that learning should extend beyond acquiring knowledge, it should contribute to advancing understanding and creating value for others.
Career-wise
For a long time, I thought all of this pointed toward one career: becoming a lecturer and researcher. Recently, though, I've realized I don't actually know what my career will look like, and that's okay. I'm still exploring. Whether I eventually work in academia, AI, software, data science, finance, or somewhere completely unexpected, my mission is independent of its medium!
Becoming a researcher is still a top contender for my career. While I am still exploring the specific path that will best suit me, I aim to carry forward the spirit of a scholar anywhere I end up: to expand knowledge, inspire curiosity, and create meaningful impact through education, research, and service.
